Congressional Award Program

The Congressional Award is the United States Congress' award for young Americans. It is non-partisan, voluntary, and non-competitive. The program is open to all youth ages 14 – 24 regardless of ability, circumstance, or socioeconomic status. Participants earn Bronze, Silver, and Gold Certificates and Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals. Each level involves setting goals in four program areas; Voluntary Public Service, Personal Development, Physical Fitness, and Expedition/Exploration. Earning the Award is a fun and interesting way to get more involved in something you already enjoy or something you'd like to try for the first time. This is not an award for past accomplishments; instead, you are honored for achieving your own challenging goals.

The Congressional Award has no minimum grade point average requirements and is accommodating of young people with special needs or disabilities.

You can register online for the Congressional Award at http://congressionalaward.org/program/register-now/.

The cost to participate is a one-time registration fee of $25.00. You may have your registration fee waived if you qualify for your school's free/reduced lunch program. If this is the case, complete the Hard Copy Registration Form and mail or email to the Congressional Award office (P.O. Box 77440, Washington, DC 20013) with documentation of your status in the free/reduced lunch program.
