U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush Delivers On Renaming South Side Post Office After Retired Letter Carrier 7715 And 7748 S. Cottage Grove Locations Will Be Known As "James E. Worsham Post Office"
Chicago, IL. ---- Congressman Bobby L. Rush announced today the renaming of a South Side post office after retired Chicago letter carrier, James E. Worsham.
Rush introduced the bill, H.R. 3340, last November after meeting Worsham, who spent 41 years serving residents on the South Side, while also advocating for the needs of his fellow letter carriers.
James Worsham exemplifies the heart and spirit of todays American worker. His leadership, work ethic and respect he commands from his peers makes him truly deserving of this honor, said Rush.
Worsham held several key positions during his U.S. Postal Service career, including union representative roles, branch president and director of Retired Members for the Letter Carriers in Washington, D.C.
When I began my career as a letter carrier, I never imagined that my place of work would one day bear my name, said James Worsham. I am humbled, excited and thankful for the support that Ive received from my peers and Congressman Rush to make this recognition a reality.
