U.S. Rep. Bobby L. Rush & Donors Forum Hold Grantsmanship Workshop
Chicago ---- Congressman Bobby L. Rush and the Donors Forum of Chicago will hold an educational and training workshop Understanding the Grantseeking Process on Monday, June 23, 2000 from 8:30AM and 12:00 Noon at Northern Trust Company, Community Room, 2nd floor, 7801 South State Street, Chicago.
Participants wll learn successful grantsmanship from fundraising experts and learn how to identify potential funding sources. A panel of grantmakers will discuss their foundation giving programs, new initiatives and share insights into how their foundation finds and funds successful programs.
The Workshop is being supported by the Northern Trust Bank.
Congressman Rush will give remarks followed by Donors Forum Vice President, Barbara Kemmis. Foundation speakers and panelists include: Timothy A. Herwig, Vice President of Community Affairs, TCF Bank; Gabriella Fleischer, Administrator, Kraft Foods; Patrick Bayard, Associate Program Officer, the Community Trust; Dimitra Tasiouras, Program Officer, Lloyd A. Fry Foundation and Evette M. Cardona, Program Officer, Polk Brothers Foundation.
Participants in the workshop will learn key elements in identifying potential funding sources, the process of securing grants, and how to establish relationships with nonprofits. The selected fundraisers and grantmakers on the panel will also provide participants with the dynamics of how they established their own giving programs.
