Rush Statement on the Passing of Pfc. Miguel Villalon
WASHINGTON — Today, U.S. Representative Bobby L. Rush (D-Ill.) released the following statement on the passing of U.S. Army Private First Class Miguel Villalon:
“This weekend we learned of the heartbreaking news that another beloved member of our community was victim to the cowardly and contemptuous actions of terrorists. Joliet native, Pfc. Miguel Villalon, tragically perished in Afghanistan when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device while conducting operations in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.
“Pfc. Villalon’s heroic service to his county and fellow Americans is unquestionable, and my heart aches for his entire family, who must now bear the brunt of this unimaginable loss. Know that my prayers, as well as the prayers of the constituents of the 1st Congressional District of Illinois, are with his family and loved ones during these most difficult of times,” said Rep. Rush.
