Rush Announces Over $4 Million In Federal Funding to Friend Family Health Center
WASHINGTON — Today, U.S. Representative Bobby L. Rush (D-Ill.) announced that the Friend Family Health Center has been awarded $4,045,729 by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The funding comes through the Health Resource and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Health Center Cluster grant program and is awarded on a competitive basis to grantees that have demonstrated quality care to the communities they serve.
“This is critical funding that will ensure that essential health services remain strong in the 1st Congressional District of Illinois. I will continue to advocate for federal funding that provides health care services to our most vulnerable Americans,” said Rush.
HRSA is the main federal agency dedicated to improving health care for people who are geographically isolated and economically or medically vulnerable. These competitive grants will be used to improve patient access to quality services, practitioners, and treatments.
