Rush Announces 2019 Congressional Art Competition
CHICAGO — U.S. Representative Bobby L. Rush (D-Ill.) invites high school students in the 1st Congressional District of Illinois to submit their artwork for the 2019 Congressional Art Competition by Friday, May 3.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for students in the First District to showcase their enormous talent and creativity,” said Rush. “I am excited to see the wonderful pieces of art and I encourage all young artists from around the district to submit their work for consideration.”
The winning piece will be displayed in the United States Capitol building along with other artwork from across the country. The Congressional Art Competition began in 1982 and since then more than 650,000 young artists have been involved.
Official rules, guidelines, and submission forms are available on Congressman Rush’s website at https://rush.house.gov/services/art-competition.
